I found out last night that a song I wrote has made it to the finals in a statewide music contest. This means that out of the couple hundred entrys from high school students across the state, my piece is one of the top ten (very cool). The judges will decide first, second, and third place at a live performance in two weeks. I really hope I win. For the past two years I've gotten to finals but I've never been able to walk away with a prize. A win this time would sure be a great highlight for my senior year. Not only that, but I would also get a very nice ca$h prize to do with as I please.
