I'm happy to say I reached a long-standing goal today. After lifting regularly since the middle of first semester, I was finally able to bench and even do a few reps of my body weight. The last time I was able to bench my weight was junior year when it was my one-rep max. It's a great feeling to have surpassed that benchmark (ha! pun intended) and to know I've improved. My next goal is to add 10 pounds to my bench by finals. That's two pounds a week... maybe I should start eating more eggs.
