As expected, I began my second internship at the credit union today. The company has grown a great deal since I last visited, and I am now one of about a dozen rather than just six in the main third floor office. Because it was pretty much a settling-in day, I spent most of my time setting up my computer (a really nifty, ), installing software, and reading up on , which it appears I will be working on quite a bit over the next few months. With the Java and C++ experience I got from school, I'm really looking forward to diving into C# and the whole deal that's been hyped so much recently. It will certainly be a change to work in an integrated Windows environment after eight months of text- and command line-based *nix development. Even so, with only one day of experience, Visual Studio .NET looks awfully nice. I'll give my opinion on the entire framework a little bit more time to percolate before I write too much about it, though.
