This past week saw what I hope will be the upper limit of this year's homework load. I had a French composition, the first CS programming project, and a physics lab, plus all the normal day-to-day work like math. Because I've been so busy, I haven't had a chance to write about some recent occurrences. First, I bought myself a new toy: the Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom. My father's Olympus is what got me looking at the brand, but the 10x optical zoom (40x with the digital zoom enabled!), 4 megapixels, and numerous other features are what sold me on the C-750. Again, thanks to homework, I haven't had much chance to test it yet, but you can look forward to some interesting new pictures in the near future.

The second occurrence happened just tonight. I went to see an award-winning violinist named Barnabas Kelemen play in the theater on campus. He's amazingly talented; it would be a dream to play guitar half as well as he plays violin. As good as he was, though, I thought the choice of music left a little to be desired. One piece in particular had a whole passages of dissonant runs that, while probably filled with all sorts of technical nuances that I am undoubtedly a heathen for missing, simply made me cringe. Even so, I enjoyed the show overall. The only thing that would have made it better would have been someone (preferably a girl) to go with. Not only was I unable to find anyone, I couldn't even think of a single acquaintance, female or otherwise, who would have been the least bit interested in a violin concert. That's life, I suppose.
