Yesterday, I promised to post some interesting pictures taken with my new camera. I've found there's no better place to get interesting pictures than at a history theme festival.

But first, some backstory. I'm in a course wherein the students work on various projects for charities, nonprofits, and other organizations in the community. My team works for the county historical society who, among other things, puts on a festival at an old French and Indian War fort. Every year, hundreds of merchants and craftsmen decend on the land surrounding the fort and "recreate" its days as a trading post and battlefield in the 1700s. The general public and I took part in the event by attending and gawking at the hundreds and hundreds of grown adults dressed in full indian, merchant, settler, or soldier fashion. I went for two reasons; first, it was certainly an interesting departure from normal; and second, one of the groups on my team is putting together an image database for the historical association. They asked that the whole team forward any pictures of the festival to the group leader, which gave me a perfect reason to test out my new camera.
